Tablets give the smallest and most repeatable serving in the category, which is why they suit anyone who wants a low, consistent amount. They are usually built on functional blends such as Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, reishi or cordyceps, and many are scored so you can split one. Check each product page for the blend, the amount per tablet, and whether the maker discloses its proportions.

Amanita muscaria gummies

Amanita muscaria is the fly agaric, the red mushroom with white spots. Its active compounds are muscimol and ibotenic acid, which are chemically unrelated to psilocybin. Products in this group are intoxicating. The milligram figure on the front of the pack is the total for every piece inside, not one gummy, so divide by the piece count before you decide a serving.

Some gummies are marketed as mushroom inspired without naming an active compound anywhere on the label. If a product page does not state what is in it, ask us before you buy. We would rather answer the question than have you guess.

If you want the daily, non-intoxicating kind, look at the functional blend tablets. If you are looking for the red-capped mushroom that contains muscimol, that is Amanita muscaria. The two are not substitutes for each other.

What are functional mushrooms?

Functional mushrooms are mushrooms taken for a specific effect rather than as food. In practice the phrase covers three separate things that get shelved together and should not be confused:

• Nootropic and culinary mushrooms. Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, reishi, cordyceps and chaga. Non-intoxicating, taken daily like any other supplement, and widely sold nationwide as dietary supplement ingredients.
• Amanita muscaria. Active compounds are muscimol and ibotenic acid. It is intoxicating, it is a genuine mushroom, and it is not listed in the United States Controlled Substances Act.
• Psilocybin mushrooms. Schedule I under United States federal law. We do not sell psilocybin mushrooms, psilocybin products or spores.

When you compare two packages, the number that matters is the named active compound and the milligrams per piece, not the total milligrams printed on the front or the word mushroom in the product name.

Which one should you choose?

• You want a daily, non-intoxicating option. A microdose tablet built on a functional blend, where the maker states it contains no psilocybin, psilocin or Amanita muscaria.
• You want to try Amanita muscaria specifically. An Amanita gummy, and follow the directions on the maker’s label.
• You want the lowest-cost way to try a mushroom gummy. The smallest gummy pack in the grid above. Sort by price to see where the range currently starts.
• You are shopping for a gift or a first try. Take the smallest pack in whichever group fits, not the highest milligram count.

How much should you take?

Serving size depends on the piece, not the number on the front of the pack. The number on the front of a multi-piece pack is the total for every piece inside, so divide it by the piece count to get the amount per piece. A microdose tablet may be only a few milligrams per piece. A multi-gummy Amanita pack and a microdose tablet are completely different products, and the big number on the front is the least useful figure on the label.

Follow the directions on the maker’s label and do not exceed them. Do not drive. Do not combine with alcohol. Not for anyone under 21, pregnant, nursing, or taking prescription medication. If you have a health condition, talk to your doctor first.

Are mushroom edibles legal?

It depends entirely on which group the product belongs to. Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, reishi and cordyceps are ordinary supplement ingredients sold nationwide. Amanita muscaria is not listed in the federal Controlled Substances Act, which is why Amanita edibles are sold openly in smoke shops across most of the country. Louisiana restricts it for human consumption. Psilocybin remains Schedule I federally, and we do not sell it.

What is the difference between Amanita muscaria and psilocybin mushrooms?

They are different mushrooms with different active compounds. Amanita muscaria contains muscimol and ibotenic acid and is not federally scheduled in the United States. What is a microdose mushroom tablet?

A tablet holding a deliberately small, fixed amount, usually built on a non-intoxicating functional blend. People choose them for a light, consistent, repeatable serving. Check the product page for the exact amount per tablet and the blend it uses.

How long do mushroom gummies take to kick in?

Onset varies by product and comes on slower after a large meal. Follow the maker’s label directions, and do not take more before the time the label states has passed. Taking a second serving too early is the most common mistake with any edible.

Do mushroom gummies show up on a drug test?
